No Kingdom is There
by Marie B. Paraison ina prophet usually was not considered as the crown jewels of israel.
notwithstanding that the prophets had the veritable word of god and they were emissaries to kings and the kings conferred with the prophets on matters of life and death, yet a wicked kings could get his loyal supporters who were the lovers of the kingdom to put to death the prophets of jehovah/yah.
people would flock to the king by the thousands.

where does the bible say that god would appoint men to shepherd the flock? and why would he appoint some who would actually lie to their flock?
and no, JWs are by far not the only once preaching some version of "good news". the news they preach isn't any good either.

craziest reason elders wanted to have a commitee meeting with you
by glentrevette ini had a sister who was a tenant in my house and her car was leaking oil all over my newly paved driveway before she moved in i had a condition on the lease that said if her car leaked oil she couldnt park there and i told here after she moved in that she was being deceptive to me when she said her car didnt leak oil she was good friends with a lot of powerful elders in the hall and would you believe they asked to meet with me 3 elders in the back room of the library because they said i had called this sister a liar i got out of it only after i produced a copy of the lease and pictures of the oil mess if i hadnt of had pictures maybe i would of been dfd.

the whole gang was taken to the back room after someone reported us for seeing us in a discoteque on my bachelor party. good thing that someone didn't see us leaving for the strip club later on. my brother wanted to argue with the elders, but i just told them that we're all very sorry for visiting a disco and it won't happen again.

Have you ever had a prayer answered?
by nicolaou inprayer topics seem to be the bandwagon of the moment so i'm jumping on!
seriously, has anyone here asked for something specific in prayer and actually gotten what they asked for?
what convinces you that you wouldn't have got it in any case?

very well said, dario.
@lvl101 & @tec & @nobleheart etc.:
so because some people messed up parts of this world, god would rather give a job to someone living in the USA than protecting someone's life in ruanda? or was it because they didn't use "in jesus' name"? or was it that they didn't pray hard enough? or did it fit god's plan better to publish a book than protecting one's life? maybe god can only do simple favours?
why on earth do you follow a god that behaves like that?
and about the earthquake victims: of course some are found, that's not because of your prayers "in jesus' name", that's because of people searching for them. and many will NOT be found!

so the 5% who survived your illness all did so because of prayer to some specific deity?

For non-believers: What evidence would it take for you to believe in 'god'?
by jay88 init all comes down to evidence (but funny how we tend not to accept the evidence that indicates that what be actually believe to be true might be wrong).. this is a statement made by nick in previous thread of his.. >>>>>>>>>>.
if the ot 'god' reappeared today, would that be evidence of 'god'?.

that's pretty much the same as asking yourself "what would make the existence of fairies evident". seeing is believing.
just some random event like the healing of an amputee (which would be something nice for a change, as prayer seems to heal all kinds of stuff, but never is effective on amputees) wouldn't be enough evidence for me to believe in "god". because it could well be some unknown natural power, like some self-healing process or the like. addidionally, such event wouldn't point to some particular god. there's no way finding out if quetzalcoatl, thor or anubis did the miracle.
